Timothy Chooi
Violin
News

Two young violinists are in Newfoundland and Labrador for the final concert of a classical music series, and have brought two extremely expensive instruments with them.

Nikki & Timothy Chooi, who are from Victoria, BC, are the star performers at Friday's performance of Oh Brother! at the Arts and Culture Centre in St. John's.

Fresh from the sold-out performance of Trio Cavatina on January 25, Chamber On The Mountain presents “miracle” violinist Timothy Chooi in a performance with Robert Koenig, head of the Collaborative Piano Program at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The concert will feature well-loved pieces by Saint-Saëns, Beethoven, Ysaÿe, and Prokofiev. A meet-the-artist reception will immediately follow the performance.

Timothy Chooi wins the use a 1729 Guarnerius del Gesu from the 2012 Canada Council Instrument Bank Competition.
